Managing PON networks just got simpler : Inside V-SOL's new Web UI upgrade

As networks grow bigger and more complex, managing multiple devices can be a headache. Different interfaces, confusing menus, and inconsistent workflows slow down deployment and day-to-day operations. V-SOL’s updated Web UI solves this by providing a single, consistent visual interface for OLTs, ONUs, and routers, making network management faster, clearer, and simpler.

Stability meets speed:

The new interface is built on Vue 3, improving speed, responsiveness, and reliability. It also strengthens security and keeps the system running smoothly, even when hundreds of ONUs are passing traffic through a single OLT. In our testing, we saw the same resource utilisation across both the older Web UI and the updated version on multiple OLT models.

OLT dashboard : clearer network oversight

The OLT is the central hub of a PON network, and the new Web UI makes monitoring and management straightforward. The dashboard shows device status, port activity, and traffic flow on a single screen. Icons and colours make any issues easy to spot.

Quick access to settings:

Jump straight to specific configuration pages using search, click PON ports to see connected ONUs, or access protocol settings directly. This reduces unnecessary navigation and speeds up daily tasks.

Traffic monitoring at multiple levels

Traffic can be tracked at the PON port, ONU, and Gemport level. Interactive charts make it simple to spot congestion and plan bandwidth.

Simplified uplink management

Filtering and batch options let you manage uplinks efficiently, whether focusing on Gigabit, 10G SFP+, or multiple ports at once.

ONU management: Quicker and more visual

Managing large numbers of ONUs can be time-consuming. The new interface makes it easier and more intuitive. Device status, performance, Wi-Fi connections, and network layout are all shown on one screen. Topology diagrams clearly show how ONUs, ports, and services are connected.

Batch actions for multiple devices

Filter ONUs by type or online status and apply changes, such as configuration updates, reboots, or service adjustments to multiple devices at once.

Simplified firmware updates

Firmware upgrades can be done in batches or phases, with real-time progress tracking and guided steps to avoid mistakes.

Automatic configuration for new ONUs

Predefined templates allow new ONUs to be automatically set up as soon as they’re connected, saving time and reducing errors.

VSOL’s upgraded Web UI makes managing networks straightforward. Clear visuals, consistent layouts, and practical features mean you spend less time navigating menus and more time focusing on growing and optimising your network.
