Master Point-to-Point links with the Mimosa C6x
Master Point-to-Point links with the Mimosa C6x

The Mimosa C6x is a high-performance fixed wireless radio designed for both Point-to-Point (PTP) and Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP) deployments.

The Mimosa C6x offers exceptional spectrum flexibility by operating across the 5.15 to 6.425 GHz spectrum. It is able to deliver up to 2.0 Gbps aggregate throughput in PTP mode and 1.75 Gbps in PTMP mode with Mimosa's proprietary wireless enhancements.

The 6 GHz band offers significantly less interference than crowded 5 GHz channels, which should result in more stable, low noise links with greatly improved signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).

The Mimosa C6x features a modular design.

Out the box, the radio includes an integrated 8 dBi radio. This is easily increased using Mimosa’s interchangeable N5-X twist-on antennas as well as the TwistPort adapters from RF Elements.

This allows incredible installation options flexibility enabling everything from short-range building-to-building links to long-distance carrier-grade backhaul.

The rugged IP67-rated enclosure ensures reliable operation in harsh outdoor environments, while features such as Auto-TDD, advanced interference mitigation, 1 ms latency, and support for the cleaner 6 GHz band provide exceptional performance even in congested wireless environments.

The Mimosa C6x is an excellent choice for most PTP installations including:

  • Building-to-building network bridges
  • Enterprise campus connectivity
  • School and university inter-building links
  • CCTV and surveillance backhaul
  • Warehouse-to-office connectivity
  • ISP and WISP backhaul
  • Rural broadband distribution
  • Temporary event networking

Let’s have a look at how we would set up PTP Link using the Mimosa C6x.

We will be doing this by following the main steps:

1. Unlocking the devices

2. Upgrading the firmware

3. Setting up the Access Point

4. Connecting the Station to the AP

1. Unlocking the devices

We need to go to cloud.mimosa.co and log in using our cloud account and click the unlock icon.

Use the serial number on the unit or on the box to unlock it

2. Upgrading the firmware
