Job Description
  • Prepare estimates for import enquiries, by doing manual costing.
  • Plan and coordinate import arrangements per product manager requirements.
  • Complete clearing instructions and create shipment files.
  • Ensure compliance with customs and other government institution requirements and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with carrier requirements (e.g., loading, labelling, packaging, cargo declarations).
  • Monitor shipment progress up to delivery.
  • Expedite shipments and communicate deviations from plans to internal parties and update SAP.
  • Process foreign supplier invoices with the correct forex rate and load payment on Nedtreasury.
  • Process clearing agents’ invoices, checking tariff codes and clearing rates.
  • Reconcile clearing agents’ statements and arrange payment.
  • Prepare weekly forex reports for forex purchases.
  • Maintain forex rates on SAP.
  • Update foreign payments schedule and shipping register.
  • Reconciling foreign creditors' accounts.
  • Other admin functions.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Grade 12/Matric Certificate (Mandatory)
  • Industry-related tertiary qualification would be an advantage.
  • Required Experience
  • 5 years of experience in Sea Air and Road Imports.
  • Sound knowledge of Customs, Sea, Air and Road Import procedures and requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of preparing estimates for all modes of transport.
  • Freight industry and Import knowledge and experience (Compulsory).
  • Experience with SAP B1
  • Other Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrate strong work ethics.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with good telephone etiquette.
  • Mature and responsible individual with good timekeeping skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure, prioritise and multi-task effectively.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Excellent administrative skills with good attention to detail.
  • Deadline driven.
