The more agile and nimble your business is right now, the better positioned it is to have the resilience to survive and overcome the challenges faced by many companies across the globe right now. Before Covid-19, the demand for connectivity had already been increasing as companies began realising the importance of digitisation. Remaining competitive while lowering expenses was top of mind, but now this has become essential for businesses to survive.
The need for keeping up with customer demands and addressing high tower space rental fees has just been answered! The new RADWIN JET DUO 5GHz dual-carrier beam-forming base station is the perfect solution to seamlessly upgrade sector capacity whilst lowering total cost of ownership. With its Second-Generation Bi-Directional beam-forming antenna, the RADWIN JET DUO achieves a minimum of 25% more capacity in the congested spectrum. Rather than using a single, yet noisy, wide channel, the JET DUO enables the use of two narrow channels for minimal radio interference. This assures link reliability and stable capacity as well as an additional 20dB less interference attenuation and increased immunity.
The increased immunity to interference allows for the use of only two concurrent channels of 80 MHz per sector, or less, depending on capacity demand. Because all RADWIN JET have both inter- and intra-site GPS synchronisation one can use the same set of channels on each high-site in your network without experiencing any self-interference. JET DUO provides a built-in GPS receiver for TDD synchronisation and connects to the WAN over gigabit fibre or copper Ethernet interfaces.
JET DUO encapsulates dual 750mbps 5GHz radio carriers into a single unit to deliver 1.5Gbps over a 90˚ sector. Each carrier uses a separate beam-forming antenna that operates on the same or different 5GHz sub-band. Capacity in terms of subscribers will also increase from 64 subscribers to 128 and in a future firmware upgrade, it will also allow subscribers to automatically switch from one carrier to the other, in case of a compromised connection, increasing service reliability. JET DUO is backwards compatible and operable with all RADWIN subscriber units.
