Get your new customers online quicker with Ubiquiti’s UISP 60GHz wave solution

South African ISPs encounter various issues in their effort to deliver premium service to their customers. These issues include long wait times to cross public roads with fibre, local municipal paperwork, high costs of labour and time, and pressure from customers waiting for their internet line. All of these challenges are hurdles to growth for ISPs, and we are here today to solve these issues.

MiRO has introduced a range of Ubiquiti’s UISP 60GHz PtMP Wave solutions that not only resolve these issues, but also enable WISPs to maintain operation, maximise production and enhance customer satisfaction using Ubiquiti’s cost-effective PtMP 60GHz Wave technology.

Ubiquiti is a manufacturer of wireless data communication products. The UISP (Ubiquiti Internet Service Provider) is a platform that provides solutions to wireless internet service providers (WISPs/ISP) with a range of tools and features to manage their networks and services.

Ubiquiti’s Wave technology is proprietary and engineered to maximise speed/performance across long distances utilising the very high capacity, super-low interference 60GHz frequency range – also known as V-Band.

Ubiquiti's UISP 60GHz PtMP (Point-to-Multipoint) Wave technology is beneficial to Southern African wireless and fibre ISPs for several reasons. One of the main advantages is the ability to provide high-speed connectivity over distances of up to 5km without the high costs of labour and trenching equipment normally associated with last-mile fibre installations. Another great advantage is that because the Ubiquiti Wave technology operates in the 60Ghz spectrum, ISPs can now benefit from noise and interference free last-mile hops, that will deliver a great level of uptime and service to end-users and businesses, with symmetrical connectivity packages of 100Mbps+ when used in a 15 subscriber PtMP configuration or 1Gbps+ when used in a PTP configuration.

For PtP (Point-to-Point) links, the following airFiber devices support Wave Technology as well, the Ubiquiti airFiber Long-Range 60GHz Radio System and  Ubiquiti AirFiber - Multi-gigabit, 60 GHz bridge.

For PtMP (Point-to-Multipoint) applications, the following Ubiquiti Wave products can be used; the Ubiquiti 60GHz Wave AP, the Ubiquiti 60GHz Wave Long Range subscriber, and the Ubiquiti 60GHz Wave Nano subscriber for shorter distances.

The UISP platform includes features such as network management and subscriber management which can help ISPs to easily manage and scale their networks.

Why choose Ubiquiti UISP 60GHz wave solution

1. High-speed wireless connectivity: The 60GHz frequency band allows for very high data rates (up to 2.7Gbps), making it suitable for applications that require a lot of bandwidth, such as streaming video or large file transfers.

2. Interference immunity: Because the 60GHz frequency band is relatively free from interference from other wireless technologies, it can provide a more reliable and stable wireless connection.

3. Low latency: The technology is designed to have low latency, making it suitable for applications that require real-time communication, such as voice over IP or online gaming.

4. Cost-effective: It is more cost-effective than last-mile fibre as well as some other wireless technologies available on the market.

With this Ubiquiti solution available from MiRO, businesses can build high performance networks quickly, be it for an IP camera surveillance system, a business park, or for an ISP wanting to get their customers connected in record time.  Visit www.miro.co.za to shop for these innovative solutions or send us an email at sales@miro.co.za for more information.
