Eligibility:

• This incentive is open to all consumers who purchase Luminous backup power products from ‘authorised partners’ during the promotional period specified by the distributor.
• Participants must be residents of South Africa and must be at least 18 years old at the time of entry.
• Employees, immediate family members, or anyone connected with the administration of this incentive are eligible to participate.

Promotional Period:

• The promotional period will be clearly defined by the distributor (Hudaco Energy) and communicated through marketing channels.

Entry Mechanism:

• Participants automatically qualify for entry upon purchase of any Luminous backup power product during the promotional period, from authorised partners (MiRO, Elvey, Cadac, Fidelity or Hudaco Energy themselves)
• Each eligible purchase constitutes one entry into the incentive.

Prize Details: 

• The prize consists of either:
  - An all-inclusive-paid trip to Mauritius for the winner and their partner, including flights, accommodation, and meals (activities excluded).
  - Alternatively, the winner may opt for a cash prize of R100,000.
• The choice between the trip and cash prize is at the winner's discretion and is subject to availability.

Winner Selection:

• The winner will be selected through a randomised serial number draw conducted by the distributor.
• The draw will occur within a quarter after the promotional period ends.
• The winner will be notified via the contact details available through the authorised partner.

Claiming the Prize:

• The winner must claim their prize within the distributor's specified time frame.
• Failure to claim the prize within the specified time will result in forfeiture, and an alternate winner may be selected.

Income Tax:

• According to South African tax law, any cash prize an individual receives may be taxable.
• The prize amount would typically be included in the winner's annual income tax return under "other income" or "prizes and awards."
• The cash prize would be subject to income tax at the individual's applicable marginal tax rate based on their total taxable income for the year.

General Terms: 

• The non-transferable prize cannot be exchanged for any other product or service. 
• The distributor reserves the right to substitute the prize with an alternative of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond their control necessitate such action.
• By participating in the incentive, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and any other rules or regulations set forth by the distributor.
• The distributor's decision regarding any aspect of the incentive, including the selection of winners, is final and binding.
• The distributor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the incentive without prior notice.

Personal Information: 

By purchasing a Luminous product and participating in the Luminous Consumer Incentive, participants willingly grant the distributor permission to access their personal information. This authorisation enables the distributor to use participants' personal information to administer the incentive, including but not limited to conducting the random draw, notifying winners, and fulfilling prize awards. Participants acknowledge and consent to the distributor's collection, use, and retention of their personal information under applicable data protection laws and regulations.
