What is a DECT system and how does it work?

A DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephony) system is made up of two devices.  A base station that is hard-wired into your network and, a cordless phone that connects to the base station using a specific operating frequency.  You simply pair the cordless phone with the base station and then onboard and configure the base station from your VoIP (Voice over IP) software or directly through the GUI of the base station.
