IgniteNet takes a fresh approach to wireless and wired networks with a focus on simplicity, ease of use and performance. They provide an easy and affordable way for you to grow your network. Whether you're setting up an enterprise network in a corporate setting or installing an outdoor wireless broadband network, we have you covered. 60GHz mmWave solutions are changing the way we look at fixed broadband connectivity. The MetroLinq range from IgniteNet has all the essential features necessary to deliver high-capacity fibre-like wireless connectivity for data-intense applications.
Show more ...IgniteNet is one of the world’s leading manufacturer of 60GHz millimeter wave point-to-point and point-to-multi-point solutions. IgniteNet’s 60GHz solutions are developed for use by service providers and enterprise networks that require high-capacity and low latency, such as fixed wireless access, 3G/4G backhaul, metro Wi-Fi, campus interconnection and hybrid fibre/wireless network connectivity. These solutions have the added advantage of being spectrum license-free, allowing ultra-fast deployment without the hassle of a spectrum license.
IgniteNet manufacturers radios that can deliver speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps; perfect for applications with high throughput requirements such as cloud connectivity for businesses, video streaming for surveillance or short backhaul hops for ISPs and WISPs. In the 60 GHz range, the beam width is narrow, allowing for a higher level of security and less interference. The narrow beamwidth also allows you to reach distances of up to 1.5km line of sight.
IgniteNet, founded in 2013, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Accton group with headquarters in Irvine, CA and offices in Europe and Asia. IgniteNet has a proven track record of producing powerful, reliable, easy to deploy, and innovative cloud-managed wireless solutions and the industry’s lowest-cost 60 GHz wireless technology through channel partners worldwide catering to the needs of enterprises and service providers. In 2020, IgniteNet officially announced that they are partnering up with Edgecore Networks to provide a wider variety of solutions that can integrate with each other. The ECCloud is the new online management platform that can be to monitor and manage all your IgniteNet Metrolinqs in the field.
The partnership between MiRO and IgniteNet in South Africa started in 2016 and currently MiRO is the sole distributor for IgniteNet 60 GHz PTP equipment in the South African region and export to neighbouring countries such as Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Angola, Mozambique, Lesotho, and Swaziland. MiRO’s IgniteNet portfolio consists of the PTP 60 GHz radios (ML1 and ML2.5) as well as the Metrolinq brackets required to install these radios (IGN-ICC-BRACKET-LC and IGN-ICC-BRACKET-LR). The Metrolinq LC bracket is a cost-effective yet robust bracket, thus making it great for large deployments. The long-range bracket is the enterprise Metrolinq bracket, which is designed to give you perfect accuracy and stability for longer distances.
Lastly, MiRO also sells all the necessary accessories required for a quick and easy installation.

Setting up IngiteNet MetroLinq radios have never been easier! IgniteNet released several accessories to make the installation process much simple.
The first accessory is the IngiteNet alignment scope that will help you with aligning the two 60 GHz radios perfectly. When using the scope, we can ensure you precise antenna positioning in the field which at the end of the day will optimise your entire 60 GHz link.
The second accessory is the IngiteNet linq assist Bluetooth module. This module allows you to pair your phone with your IgniteNet MetroLinq Radio and use the Linq Assist App for alignment.
There are two different types of MetroLinq radios, the ML1 and the ML 2.5 range.
The ML1 Supports speeds up to 1 Gbps aggregate with one 1 Gbps PoE in port and one SFP port.
The ML2.5 supports speeds up to 2.5 Gbps aggregate with one 2.5 Gbps PoE-in port and one SFP port.
The Metrolinq 1 and 2.5Gbps radios all have an integrated antenna built in.
MetroLinq 1 Radios:
IGN-ML1-6019-INT - Integrated 36dBi (60GHz) & 16dBi (5GHz) antenna
IGN-ML1-6035-INT - Integrated 42dBi (60GHz) & 22dBi (5GHz) antenna
Metrolinq 2.5 Radios:
IGN-ML2.5-6019-INT - Integrated 36dBi (60GHz) & 16dBi (5GHz) antenna
IGN-ML2.5-6035-INT - Integrated 42dBi (60GHz) & 22dBi (5GHz) antenna
The following distances are achievable when the radios have perfect line of sight.
1 KM (PTP) - For the Metrolinq ML1 and 2.5 with a 36dBi integrated antenna. (IGN-ML1-6019-INT and IGN-ML2.5-6019-INT)
1.5 KM (PTP) – For the Metrolinq ML1 and 2.5 with a 42dBi integrated antenna. (IGN-ML1-6035-INT and IGN-ML2.5-6035-INT)
All Metrolinq radios support 5 GHz fail-over as the 60 GHz spectrum is attenuated by rain fade and oxygen absorption. Therefore, when the weather effects the performance of the 60 GHz link, it automatically falls over to 5 GHz to keep your link performing excellent at all times.
IgniteNet solutions are commonly used in short distance backhaul applications that require high-capacity bandwidth. IgniteNet applications are fixed wireless access, enterprise networks, security and surveillance, hospitality, education and lastly service provider applications.
