EPMP 4500C and RF Elements Horns: Exploring deployment options for the most flexible fixed wireless Access Point on the market.
EPMP 4500C and RF Elements Horns: Exploring deployment options for the most flexible fixed wireless Access Point on the market.

Cambium Networks’ ePMP 4500C sets a new standard for flexibility in fixed wireless infrastructure. Like the integrated ePMP 4500 Access Point, the 4500C is built on 802.11ax technology, delivering up to 4Gbps per sector using beamforming and up to 8x8 MU-MIMO*. Thanks to its connectorised design with eight coaxial antenna ports, this version of the ePMP 4500 offers flexibility for reusing existing antennas or—for the best performance and interference mitigation—WISPs can use industry-leading horns from RF Elements.

Why pair your 4500C with RF Elements antennas?

RF Elements Horn Antennas are the gold standard in the WISP industry, offering a unique combination of high performance, scalability, beam shape options, and user-friendly design. With beam efficiency ranging from 94–99%, these antennas provide excellent resistance to RF noise and optimised radiation patterns for both horizontal and vertical polarisation. This ensures stable performance and supports complex deployments, including dense co-locations and frequency reuse.

Deployment options for ePMP 4500C

Single Sector Mode – Highest Performance and Density

Deploying the ePMP 4500C with two identical 4X4 Horn Array Antennas in single-sector mode provides the best throughput for a single sector and maximises density across a limited coverage area. Available in 90°, 60°, and 45° options, mounting two antennas in the same direction allows the ePMP 4500C to function as an 8x8 Horn Array.

  • Using dual 4x4 Horn Arrays in 8X8 mode
  • Large-scale deployments with channel re-use
  • Ultra-high subscriber density
  • High package requirements
  • 90°, 60° or 45° azimuth coverage with up to 4 Gbps throughput

Split Sector Mode

Option 1: Two 4X4 Horn Sectors

Deploying the ePMP 4500C with two 4X4 Horn Sectors in split sector mode enables separate azimuth coverage for two sectors with moderate to high throughput or subscriber density.

High throughput requirements

Medium client density

Any combination of 90°, 60° and 45° beamwidth 4x4 Horn Arrays

Option 2: Up to four 2X2 Horn Sectors

In split sector mode, the ePMP 4500C can cover up to four sectors with moderate throughput while minimising tower footprint, cabling complexity and power demands. This maximises your coverage from a single 4500C Access Point.

  • Low to medium density applications
  • Targeting sub-divisions, rural communities, areas with rugged mountain terrain
  • 12 different choices of beams with 2x2 Horns providing unmatched coverage flexibility
  • Looking to build an even more future-proof wireless network?

RF Elements’ new wideband antennas offer cover both the full 5 and 6GHz ISM frequency bands. This means that your antenna investment will provide you with the best possible 5GHz performance and noise rejection today and will continue to perform just as well when the 6GHz band is available for outdoor fixed wireless use in the future.
